Contemporary reinterpretation of the iconographic calvary

A contemporary reinterpretation of the iconographic of the Calvary, Candy Calvary is built around a strong contrast between the symbolic weight of the image and its visual treatment. The use of a soft, almost childlike pink color disrupts the gravity of the motif and shifts its reading. The work creates a tension between the sacred and contemporary aesthetics, questioning how deeply rooted images can be transformed, softened, or desacralized through current visual codes.
